Attending the Gay Games was important for us as a club and ultimately as individuals. We found it important to be visible and proud of our Trans 🏳️⚧️ friends in Valencia and around the world. We flew the flag, and will continue to fly the Trans flag high to demonstrate our support and visibility on trans rights in sports and beyond 🏳️⚧️
In the water we had an amazing week, where at times, though we were exhausted, we continued to push through, grow and have a genuine fun time. 4x losses and 2x wins. For our team it was our first time playing 4 x 7 minutes, with a stop clock and only 9 players (!) though we all dug deep and fought till the last minute of every match. Our team grew as players and also as friends. For some of us, this was the first match with us and hopefully not the last. For others, this marked the end of a full time water polo commitment. What saved us from landside defeats was our amazing goalie who time after time stepped up and blocked those shots. We are stronger together, we are stronger united 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈
Top goal scorer: Sean 10x & Joost 10x
Top P: Bram 10x
Good vibes: Everyone
Looking forward to the next Gay Games in Perth, Australia! @perth2030gaygames 🐨🦘🇦🇺
